This feature is available for both SIP and MiNET devices and allows a caller to hide its identity to the called party (on a per call basis). Both the name and number will be suppressed and a privacy indication will be displayed on the called device when the user dials the Private Caller FAC before dialing the destination number. The feature remains effective for the duration of the call, inter-working with basic call, call transfer, forwarding, rerouting, both to local and remote (on SIP trunks only) destinations and on PSTN calls.
NOTES
For outgoing external calls, this feature applies only if the call goes out on a SIP trunk; it does not apply to ISDN or IP trunk calls.
The Private Caller setting applies only to the original caller's call leg; any additional call leg established from the original will NOT be private and will require the FAC to be pre-dialed again.
There is no override mechanism for the Private Caller FAC.
Calls forwarded or rerouted will have the original caller's identity hidden from the new destination;
When a caller performs a transfer and the original called party requires the second leg of the transfer operation to remain private, they have to pre-dial the FAC again. As a result, the transferred-to party will see first the original caller as PRIVATE, then the held party's identity.
When a call is placed on hard hold, the called device will display "HELD BY PRIVATE"; then "PRIVATE" - once the call is reestablished.
When the called destination is busy and intrusion occurs (assuming the caller has the COS option "Executive Busy Override" enabled and the INTRUDE softkey is available), the called party will see "PRIVATE IS INTRUDING" or "PRIVATE INTRUDING" (depending on the display type).
When a private call is added to a conference, all parties will see only the number of members. Once the conferences is split back into its original party members, the splitting party will see the private caller as "PRIVATE".
